Let me ask you some personal Questions:
Are you like me desiring daily for goodness and holiness in the heart?
Or are you like me, who is struggling with impure thoughts, entangled habits, uncontrolled passions and debased affections due to spiritual negligence?
Or are you like me, who cry’s in secret, praying to God to create in you a new heart and asking for transformation of mind?
Or are you like me, who sometimes feels like committing suicide whenever you break your promise not to SIN against God?
If you find yourself in one of these situation, then this article is for you.
Friends, you are not alone. In fact all, born of Adam, are experiencing or have experienced this problem. No man, not your pastor or church leader, no matter how highly exalted he might be in the sight of men, is not exempted in this universal dilemma. All are daily being tempted within and without.
But there is One, born of the seed of Adam after the fall, Who took not the nature of Angels but of sinful, degraded man, who was tempted more than any of us but resisted temptation to the point of shedding His blood for you and I (Heb 2:16). His name is Jesus Christ.
The Question of all ages that has confronts all humanity is this: How then can I constantly have a pure heart and victory over sin like Jesus Christ? Is it ever possible?
The answer to this question is very simple! And this is the secret I came across today through the help of Christ:
TO CONSTANTLY EXPERIENCE A PURE HEART AND VICTORY OVER SIN LIKE JESUS CHRIST IS TO CONSTANTLY (THAT IS, EVERY SECONDS, MINUTES, HOURS, DAILY) SURRENDER OUR HEARTS, THROUGH SEARCHING OF THE SCRIPTURES, MEDITATION ON HIS WORD AND PERSISTENT PRAYER TO CHRIST.
Jesus Christ could not do anything without the Help of His Father. He could not overcome sin, temptation, subdue the sinful flesh He took upon or even make single decision without a CONSTANT help from His Father. From childhood to the cross, Christ dependend on God His Father for grace to overcome.
If Christ, who was given the Holy Spirit without measure depended 100% on His Father, How dare you, by your own strength, subdue your carnal, degraded and sinful heart. Definitely it is like achieving an impossibility.
How dare you enter into warfare with sin, Satan and the world in your own strength.
How dare you think you can overcome without a constant and persistent surrender of your heart in prayer to Christ.
READ the following carefully:
Jesus said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son CAN DO NOTHING of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.” John 5:19
Jesus said, “I CAN of Myself DO NOTHING. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.” John 5:30
Jesus said, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I DO NOTHING of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things. And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I ALWAYS DO those things that please Him.” John 8:28, 29.
The Blind man said of Jesus, “If this Man were not from God, He could DO NOTHING.” John 9:33
The Promise of CHRIST to you are as follows:
“I (JESUS) am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me YOU CAN DO NOTHING. . . If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.” John 15:5, 7
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do SHALL HE DO ALSO; and GREATER WORKS than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.” John 14:12-14
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Phil 4:13
Ellen G. White wrote:
“In giving ourselves to God, we must necessarily give up all that would separate us from Him. Hence the Saviour says, “Whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be My disciple.” Luke 14:33. Whatever shall draw away the heart from God must be given up. Mammon is the idol of many. The love of money, the desire for wealth, is the golden chain that binds them to Satan. Reputation and worldly honor are worshiped by another class. The life of selfish ease and freedom from responsibility is the idol of others. But these slavish bands must be broken. We cannot be half the Lord’s and half the world’s. We are not God’s children unless we are such entirely.”– Steps to Christ, page 44.
WHATEVER DRAWS OUR HEART AWAY FROM GOD MUST BE GIVEN UP TODAY
