In part one of this series we looked into the definition of facial makeup, the multi-billion dollar industry and the ignorance of God’s people in relation to this topic. In this article we will briefly look into the origin and history of makeup both from the Biblical point of view and secular point of view. Mark Woodman said it beautifully:

Truth is Independent of your opinion or my opinion. Truth is also intolerant of error. Every aspect of a truthful message stimulates the conscience and requests acknowledgement. The individual however, holds the key to accept or reject that message.

I am not writing this article to condemn women but to awaken their curiosity. I am specifically writing to the professed daughters of God, who often feel insecure without the use of makeups; believing themselves to be ugly without the use of facial makeups for augmenting and improving their beauty.

2 Kings 9:30 and Jezebel

I have observed over the years that many of female Christians are not diligent Bible students. Many might have been Christians for long but they have not taken the personal responsibility to study for themselves WHY the Church admonishes positive Christian lifestyle. We are lacking Priscilla’s in our days; women who will take the Bible and expounded unto those that ask about the faith that is in them and “the way of God more perfectly.”Acts 18:26.  Many are ignorantly being deceived by their ministers. They don’t even know why they are Christians and what is required of them in this last days.

The Bible is not silent over the topic of makeup even though references to facial make-up are few. These references, though few, will enable to make rational and positive conclusions.

Who was Jezebel?

The first place in the Bible to make mention of facial cosmetic or make up is found in 2 King 9:30. It says, “And when Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her face, and tired her head, and looked out at a window.” Before we look at this verse let us identify some of the characteristics of Jezebel.

  1. Jezebel was the daughter of Ethbaal king of Zidon. The Zidonites were Baal worshippers and they practiced all the false religion of other nation. 1 King 16:31; 2 King 9:30.
  2. She was a Baal worshipper and a prophetess of baal. 1 King 16:31; 18:19; Rev 2:20.
  3. She was a murderess and the instigator or initiator of all wicked things. 1 King 18:4, 13; 1 King 21:7-15, 25.
  4. She was an adulteress, prostitute, harlot, whore and idolatress. 2 King 9:22
  5. She does not only commit adultery but also seduces God’s servants to commit adultery and spiritual fornication to eat things sacrificed to Baal. Rev 2:20.
  6. She was a witch or sorceress, that is, one who practices magical powers that are obtained through evil spirits. 2 King 9:22.
  7. Jezebel was the first and only individual whom the Bible particularly mentions by name that used facial cosmetic. 2 King 9:30.

Jezebel is from Zidon what is today known to be Lebanon (located about twenty five miles south of Beirut) which is also regarded as the eastern part in Bible times and even today. Smith’s Bible Dictionary said the Zidonians: “were idolaters, and worshipped Ashtoreth as their tutelary goddess, (1 Kings 11:5, 33; 2 Kings 23:13) as well as the sun-god Baal from whom their king was named. (1 Kings 16:31).” Jezebel probably must have adopted the use of makeup from Egypt as we shall see from the following evidence gathered from History.

Out of the 416 references of face and 73 references of faces in the KJV, Jezebel is the only individual woman in the Bible who painted her face or the only individual woman that used facial cosmetic. Jesus warned that the spirit if Jezebel will come again into the church to seduce many into using make-ups, which the women will use to lure men into fornication and Satan worship.

“Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.” Rev 2:20.

The Brown-Driver- Briggs Hebrew and English Lexicon noted that Pûk is the Hebrew word translated as painted in the verse which means “Antimony, Stibium . . . black miniral powder, for increasing brilliance of eyes by darkening edges of lids . . . practice in Arabic; Egypt . . .”

In case you are opposed to the King James Version, well, thank God for other version like the NIV. The New International Version translated this verse a follows:

“Then Jehu went to Jezreel. When Jezebel heard about it, she put on eye makeup, arranged her hair and looked out of a window.”

New English Translation said, “she put on some eyeliner.

The above translations have vindicated KJV and made it clearer for those who are confused if the Bible ever used the word makeup.

ADAM CLARKE (1960 -1832) a British Methodist Theologian commented on this verse as follows:

She endeavored to improve the appearance of her complexion by paint, and the general effect of her countenance by a tiara or turban head-dress . . . This is a custom in Asiatic countries to the present day.”

Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Bible commentary also commented on this verse as follows;

“Jezebel … painted her face . . . according to a custom universal in the East among women, of staining the eyelids with stibium, the sulphuret of antimony, a black powder, mixed with oil, called in Syria, Egypt . . . This practice existed in early times, as is proved by the ancient monuments of Egypt and the kohl vessels and probes found in the tombs. . .”

Egypt and Makeup

Before we look into other Bible references that talks about facial makeup I will like us to study carefully where makeup actually originated from or who were the predominant users of makeup originally and why do they use it.

Egypt is the home of ancient civilization and the home of all manner of idol worship. When describing Egypt God often call it the house of bondage, bondage to every kind of sin and false worship. (Ex 13:3; 20:2; 2 Peter 2:19).

In my research it was found that Egypt is the home of many cosmetic products especially those used for beautification and spiritualist purposes. It was not in the culture of the Jews to use makeup for beautification or spiritual purposes except for those who decide to go against the instructions and commandments of God. Nowhere in the Scripture were we told that a Jew used makeup that was accepted by God or the people of the land.

“For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; As mine anger and my fury hath been poured forth upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem; so shall my fury be poured forth upon you, when ye shall enter into Egypt: and ye shall be an execration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach; and ye shall see this place no more” Jer 42:18

In her article titled, “One of the 8 inventions we owe to the ancients,” Sarah Pruitt wrote the following:

Ancient Egyptians knew all about the power of a smoky eye. Way back in 4000 B.C., they started making kohl (eye makeup) to line their eyes by mixing soot with galena, a mineral with a metallic bluish, gray or black hue. In some ancient paintings, Egyptians are depicted wearing green eye makeup, a shade they achieved by mixing another mineral, malachite, with the galena. Both women and men wore kohl eye makeup in ancient Egypt. They believed it had healing properties, as well as the power to protect the wearer from the evil eye.

Regarding the use of makeup in Egypt, we were told by Evans Andrews of that:

“Both men and women were known to wear copious amounts of makeup, which they believed gave them the protection of the gods Horus (god of sky and kingship) and Ra (Sun god). . . It was then liberally applied around the eyes with utensils made out of wood, bone and ivory. Women would also stain their cheeks with red paint and use henna to color their hands and fingernails and both sexes wore perfumes made from oil, myrrh and cinnamon. The Egyptians believed their makeup had magical healing powers, and they weren’t entirely wrong: Research has shown that the lead-based cosmetics worn along the Nile actually helped stave off eye infections.”

One of the facts about facial cosmetic as noted by some historians, just as I have noted above is that;

“Cosmetic in the ancient Egypt was very important part of religion. To honor the gods and the spirits, people took very good care of their bodies. Face makeup and body oils were considered sacred.

In the future articles, we will continue from where we stop and look further into other Bible references and Historical settings.

Am about receiving some criticism for this article. Well, i will humbly welcome them. At least some celebrities are beginning to realize the TRUTH BEHIND MAKE-UP while God’s professed people are ignorant about the truth. People like Alicia Keys are serious about the MAKEUP FREE MOVEMENT while others are busy parading their fake beauty. According to June 27, 2016, The star arrived to the BET Awards without any visible makeup on her face — and though her makeup artist hinted that she may have been wearing “#nomakeupmakeup,” Keys was radiant, glowing and looked incredibly comfortable in her skin.

Keys said:

“I hope to God it’s a revolution. ‘Cause I don’t want to cover up anymore. Not my face, not my mind, not my soul, not my thoughts, not my dreams, not my struggles, not my emotional growth. Nothing.”

ee99e966b2ebbc27b0075741606ac429_89875290_aliciakeys976_2Isn’t she beautiful without makeup?

Even though i may not accept her use of Jewelries, wearing of seductive immodest dresses, and some other lifestyles. But who am i to condemn her? I am not writing this article to condemn anyone because i am also “a work in progress.” Apart from these things, i am standing behind her on the no make-up movement.

My people lack knowledge

One reason many today are being destroyed is either due to lack of knowledge of the truth or rejection of the truth. Pure truth cuts directly to the root of our selfish desires. The Spirit of God, through Prophet Hosea, said:

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.” Hosea 4:6.

The only way to know truth is to know Jesus Christ. The only way to know Jesus Christ is to receive and believe the word of God. The word of God is not the word of men as some believe it to be.

“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” John 17:17. The words of the Lord in the mouth of His Prophets and Apostles of Old were regarded as truth. (see. 1 Kings 17:24).

Salvation will come by knowing and doing the truth that is in Jesus Christ. But they that hate the truth and “loved darkness . . . because their deeds were evil,” “God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” John 3:19; 2 Thess. 2:11-12.

The Late Evangelist, Mark Woodman, said:

“Truth is Independent of your opinion or my opinion. Truth is also intolerant of error. Every aspect of a truthful message stimulates the conscience and requests acknowledgement. The individual however, holds the key to accept or reject that message.”

The truth about facial make-ups or cosmetics and jewelries . . . will quicken you to make positive reformation or changes. The role of the Holy Spirit is to convict the conscience and empower you to make positive choices, but you hold the key to accept or reject the message that comes to you. The truth about facial make-up (OR cosmetics) for this last generation will stimulates your conscience and requests your acknowledgment, therefore be prepared to accept it as it comes. Pray for the Holy Spirit to empower you to make positive decision. It will be very difficult of choose the right if the heart is not fully surrendered to Christ.

Like any other WHY questions that I have asked over the years, I often ponder on this one question: Why do most women wear make-ups when it is condemned in the Bible?

Both believers and unbelievers, young and old, wear make-ups. Yet only few know their origin and history. Even those who claim to accept the authority of the Bible seems to know nothing about it. They are ignorant of what the Bible say about facial make-ups.

Those who are seeking to live godly and chaste life will ask:

“What is the truth about makeup? Does the Bible approve the use of make-ups? Is the use of makeup wrong or is it a sin? What principles in the Bible are we to apply?” We will begin by briefly looking up the definition of cosmetics and make-ups, the origin, the multi-billion dollar business, health implications and what the Bible has to say about it. In future articles we will be looking into the subject of Jewelries from the Bible.

Definition of Make up

According to Encyclopedia Britannica,

Cosmetic is any of several preparations (excluding soap) that are applied to the human body for beautifying, preserving, or altering the appearance or for cleansing, colouring, conditioning, or protecting the skin, hair, nails, lips, eyes, or teeth.[1]

In the U.S., the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which regulates cosmetics, defines cosmetics as something

“Intended to be applied to the human body for cleansing, beautifying, promoting attractiveness, or altering the appearance without affecting the body’s structure or functions”. . . The FDA specifically excludes soap from this category.[2]

I personally define it as follows:

Facial cosmetics or make ups are solely produced and purchased with the aim of altering ones appearance, to compensate for ones perceived deficiency or omission in beauty, to falsify ones beauty by lying to others about what they are not.

It is like saying to God: “I don’t like the way you made me. My lips are not red enough. My eyebrows are not dark enough. My eyelids are not wide enough. You didn’t make my cheek to look more brownish. God you miss this part of my body at creation, you miss that part. You are such an imperfect God. I will make-up for your deficiencies and mistakes.” By doing this, we lack faith in the creative power of God.

In his book, truth about Make-up, Herbert W. Armstrong, gave two general reasons women use make-up

It is put on the face for one or both of two general reasons:

1) to be like the world around you — to be conformed to this world, in direct disobedience to God’s command; or else;

2) “to look nice,” as women express it, which means simply, to change the appearance so as to make the face prettier than it naturally is – which is VANITY! Either is a violation of God’s Law, and a SIN! Actually, the only reason a woman wishes to conform to the world is VANITY – fearing what the world will think, more than fearing God – caring more for the world and what it thinks than for God and what looks right in His sight![3]

A Multibillion dollar Industry

In recent years, consumers have been spending higher levels of disposable income on cosmetics than they had in the past. . . The United State of America is the biggest cosmetic market in the world, with estimated total revenue of about 56.63 billion U.S. dollars and employing about 56,235 people in 2013.[4] The revenue of the U.S. cosmetic industry is estimated to amount to about 62.46 billion U.S. dollars in 2016.[5] The global Cosmetic market was 460 billion U.S dollars in 2014 and is estimated to reach 675 billion U.S. dollars by 2020 growing at a rate of 6.4%. Of the cosmetic products, Skin care has the highest market share while Oral Cosmetics would be the fasted growing market during the forecasted period.[6]

The Entertainment industries have greatly molded our ideology and how we view ourselves. Our cultural values have been diluted by the western culture. When you carefully study the women in the entertainment industry (which include; music, movies, fashion, and TV presenters) you see these stars living the fast lane but they don’t look good at all when they aren’t wearing fake hair extensions and weave or putting on make-ups. Another thing to add is that women of our generation are even teaching their children how to wear makeup or allowing their daughters to put this crap on… That shows how shallow we have become in these times.

In the future articles, we will be looking briefly on the History, Bible, Health implications and alternatives.

[3] Armstrong H. W, Truth about Make-up, p. 20

“When the preacher preaches the word that convict of sin beyond 30 Mints in the church, MEN and WOMEN will begin 2 get bored, sleepy, and Angry”
“But a football match is at least 2hours and you hardly see MEN and WOMEN getting angry except their team is losing, but rather they all with pleasure watch the Football Match.”
“In fact they can with Joy watch 2 matches a day, which is 4 hours of there life wasted on useless game without any gain.”
“If the pastor is kneeling to pray for just 15 mints, many will stone the pastor or even go back to sit down, but they can stay glued to the television for hours without a blink even if it cost them their Salvation.”
The moral Lesson is this:
“The World has really converted the church instead for the church to convert the world.”
Hmm, no wonder Jesus said:
“When the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” Luke 18:8.
With the way the so-called professed Christians are going, I wonder if he will find even one. Satan is at war with Christ Church, and he will use all kind of entertainment to stimulate and arouse our senses to be stupefied with his poison.
Paul said:
“Examine yourself as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?- unless indeed you are disqualified.” 2 Cor. 13:5 NKJV.
Many of us will be lost will hoping and thinking we are still in Christ when in reality we are not HIS. He said in Mat 7:16-20:
“Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.”
He went on further to talk about those who are self deceived or self deluded about their standing with God while they knowingly commit sin:
Mat 7:22-23 “Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”
May the Lord Help me and my Brothers who are called by the name of Christ. I pray the LORD will quicken our mind to be alive and awake unto righteousness and sin not. (1 Cor 15:34).
Be warned, He is coming Soon!

“And while the world is filled with these evils, the gospel is too often presented in so indifferent a manner as to make but little impression upon the consciences or the lives of men. Everywhere there are hearts crying out for something which they have not. They long for a power that will give them mastery over sin, a power that will deliver them from the bondage of evil, a power that will give health and life and peace. Many who once knew the power of God’s word have dwelt where there is no recognition of God, and they long for the divine presence” —  Ministry of Healing, 143.1.

 Paul says:

Rom 1:16-17 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”

Saved from What?

Mat 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

What is Sin?

First definition

1Jn 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

1Jn 5:17 All unrighteousness is sin

Sin is an act. Sin is wrong-doing or not doing the right thing which incurs nothing but guilt which leads to condemnation. The sinner needs divine pardon from this guilt. But SIN is much more than an action of wrong doing.

Second definition:

Joh 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

2 Peter 2:19 . . . Whatever overcomes a man, to that he is enslaved (RV)

Rom 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Can you be a servant or a slave to two masters?

Mat 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon (sin).

UNWILLING SINNER (EXODUS 1:13, 14; 2:23-25; ROMANS 7:15)

Exo 1:13-14 “And the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigour: 14  And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in morter, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they made them serve, was with rigour.”

The Israelites were in bondage of their task-master. They want to serve the King of Heaven but they found themselves serving the King of Egypt. The Israelite were rendering an Unwilling service to the Egyptians. What must they do to be made free from this BONDAGE?

Exo 2:23-25 “And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage. 24  And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.  25  And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them.”

What then did God do when he heard the CRY, SIGHING, GROANING of the Children of Israel?

Did He forgive them or pardon them for being a Slave to the King of Egypt to for being in bondage? No. Rather He delivered them from that condition.

Exo 3:7-8  And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;  8  And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

Why were the Children of Israel building the Kingdom of Egypt even though they were unwilling to do it?

They were doing what they did because of that they were. They were SLAVES to the cruel task-master.

The man of Egypt could not solve his problem by trying to deal with the wrong actions that he was committing in the building of the Kingdom of Egypt which is also the Kingdom of Satan.

The only possible solution for him was to have the power of the SIN-MASTER broken and destroyed.

Romans 7:14-17 “For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. 15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.  16  If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.  17  Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.”

What was Paul’s problem?

Paul was sold into Slavery and under the bondage of the SIN-MASTER. He is CARNAL. He cannot do any good thing because of the SIN THAT DWELLS IN HIM.

The reason Paul commit sin is because SIN dwells in Him and he is in bondage to SIN.

Rom 7:20-23 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 21  I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.  22  For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:  23  But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

How did JESUS further explain this truth?

Luk 6:43-45 “For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 44  For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.  45  A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.”

The Same principle which operates the natural world operate in the Spiritual world. Just as Paul said, we were born unclean, with carnal mind and sin dwelling within us. We cannot bring forth the fruits of Righteousness. We must first be made righteous before we can obey the Law of God.

The kind of person you are will determine the kind of actions that you will do. You must first be good within before you can do good actions.

What is the solution?

Rom 7:24-25 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25  I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Mat 3:10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

It is clear that Paul didn’t cry out for forgiveness rather he cried out for DELIVERANCE from captivity of the SIN-MASTER. The Sin-master must be killed, destroyed, and cast into the fire before we can bear righteous fruits.

If we do not experience deliverance from the power of Sin we all will remain in a lost condition and we will continue to Sin and confess, Sin and Confess.

We commit sin because we are held captive against our will to a power stronger than us. We may ask for divine pardon for sin committed but we will surely return to that sin if we don’t ask by faith for deliverance from the bondage of Sin.

Until a Stronger Man, Jesus, binds the strong old man and kill him we shall never experience JUSTIFICATION.

What does it mean to be Justified?

Rom 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Justification leads to peace. But peace from what?

Rom 8:6-7 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7  Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

To be carnally minded is enmity against God. Enmity is the carnal mind that does not bring peace. To be justified is to have peace and the Spiritual mind.

The carnal mind is the enemy that must be destroyed before we can be Justified. We must pray that the LORD will implant in us a new mind, a new nature, Christ mind. We must be recreated before we can be Justified.

2Cor 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

To be Continued . . . .

One of the greatest mystery that has stunned me recently is how millions of we Christians Love Jesus and want to associate with his personality. We all admire His goods works. We are amazed at His sinless life that He lived. We even brag about it to unbelievers. But I stop to ponder and ask myself:

“What exactly do I really admire about this Jesus?”

“Do I also want to live that sinless perfect life that He lived?”

This is certainly a great mystery!

Millions of we Christians are like those seven foolish women spoken of in Isaiah 4:1:

“And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.”  Isa 4:1

That One man is Jesus. We want to be called Christians by those around us but at the same time we want eat our own bread (false teachings) and wear our own apparel (self of righteousness). We want Jesus to take our reproach but we don’t want to have His righteous sinless life.

Someone once wrote:

“Jesus is worshiped and praised by masses of people, yet the idea of living a perfect, sinless life like He lived is considered dangerous, leading to pride, burdensome, and to be shunned!”

It was written about us thousands of years back by Prophet Isaiah under inspiration:

“. . . this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honor me [claiming to love My righteousness], but have removed their heart far from me [by their evil, imperfect thoughts and lives], and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men[false teachings that justify sinning until Christ second coming]” Isa 29:13.

Paul, the great preacher of righteousness wrote:

“But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.”  Gal 2:17

Christ cannot be a minister of Sin. While we seek to be Justified, Forgiven, cleansed, delivered, revived, and made perfect and we still love and cherish sin in our heart; not hating it has Christ hated it, then we are making Christ a minister of Sin. It is high time for us to make a decision today to live the life of Christ. He is ready to give us this new life to reflect to the whole world.

Doesn’t it sound simple and easy? Yes it does. That’s the Mystery of Godliness.
